Dadasaheb Phalke Awards, Mumbai 2018 winners.

Mumbai-based Dadasaheb Phalke Foundation honored the celebs for their contribution towards the growth and development of Indian Cinema and television.

It was a starry affair and Meet bros aka Manmeet & Harmeet Singh, Bollywood Music Director duo bagged the ‘Dada Saheb Phalke International Film Festival 2018’ award for best performers live on stage.

Speaking on this achievement, they said “It is an auspicious occasion to receive the prestigious award. We stand proud tonight with this award and humbled and honored at the same time. We couldn’t be more grateful to our family, friends, fraternity and the most important family of fans.”

The emotional brothers Harmeet and Manmeet, who attended the ceremony thanked their parents and fans in a brief acceptance speech.

At the ceremony, eminent personalities from the entertainment industry were honored for their outstanding contribution towards the growth and development of Indian Cinema and television.

People have always known us for our party songs in movies and bagging this award only shows our other side to our audience which is a fun-filled, engaging and entertaining one. We are our best versions when we are on stage”, quipped the brothers.

Meet bros are power-packed performers in the industry as well as globally who seem to debunk every musical rule in the film industry.

They are known for their hit numbers like Chitiya Kalaiya, High Heels, Babydoll, and many more.

Aditya Narayan surprises the lil Champs favourite Jayas Kumar at his birthday bash.

Jayas Kumar (popularly known as Chote Bhagwan) was one of the favorite contestant in Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, lil champs 2017 while he was 5 years old. He was winning hearts for his innocence and talent that he holds within, especially when he sang ‘Channa Mereya’ on the stage.

The young star was celebrating his 7th birthday on 21st April as his parents (Mr. Rajeev Kumar & Suruchi) threw a surprise birthday for him and invited his close friends, relatives, Sa Re Ga Ma Juries & Aditya Narayan.

The night also witnessed the launch of the single by Jayas Kumar along with his website, adding charm to the celebrations. The guests were mesmerized when Jayas started singing the new singles and was dancing to the tunes of his songs.

Aditya Narayan joined in the celebration with Jayas Kumar, wishing him the best and being a part of his excitement. During the conversation, when asked to sing a song Aditya Narayan sang ‘Channa Mereya’ for Jayas.

India Intimate Fashion Week (IIFW), Season 2.0 to set temperature soaring.

The much awaited season 2.0 of the India Intimate Fashion Week  (IIFW) to set the temperature in crazy hot mode whilst it soothes the eye with a game changer season for all lingerie and fashion followers.  The IIFW, Season 2.0 will be held on 22nd April 2018 at  The Hotel Leela Mumbai.

Fashion Veteran and lifestyler Mona Shroff and others will add that sprinkling of color and gaiety with summer prints and vibrant colors to the collection of lingerie. To add glamour to the show, Commando 2 fame Bollywood actor Thakur Anoop Singh will walk the ramp as the showstopper.

This year IIFW invites industry veterans as the jury to honour the proponents in the field of intimate, beach and bridal lingerie business.  “International business icons, trade honchos, e-comm experts and other newsmakers from Indian Fashion Industry and Bollywood’s eminent personalities will grace the event”, says Niraj Jawanjal, Founder & Ideator, IIFW.  “ Through IIFW, we mean to celebrate the  senses and intimate positivity that translates to a carefully curated selection of lingerie. The wide array of collection would include Lingerie, loungewear, sleepwear, legwear, lingerie accessories, sportswear, swimwear, beachwear, shapewear for both the sex.

It will provide a platform for emerging and conventional brands spanning categories of lingerie, loungewear, sleepwear, legwear, lingerie accessories, men’s underwear, intimate, products and the like.

Boman Irani all praise for young talent Dev Mehta at his art showcase.

Guest of Honour, Actor Boman Irani graced the inauguration ceremony. An avid photographer himself Boman Irani spent a good time at the gallery familiarizing himself with the paintings and listening to the story behind each of them.

His first painting was called “From Tempest to Calmness.” This was the beginning of exploring his imagination on different sizes of canvasses, different mediums – watercolors, acrylic, oil, charcoal and digital without any formal training.

In his growing years he developed a keen interest in technology, he started exploring his creativity through the digital medium. He started shooting photos in 2015 both with his iPhone as well as a DSLR camera. His Paintings, Digital Art and Photographs project inspiration and a positive outlook and each picture has a story to tell.

The young talented Dev says, “I am very excited to be the youngest photographer to have a solo show at the iconic Jehangir Art Gallery. It gives me immense pleasure to share a variation of narratives through my lens and I’m looking forward for the response.

Dev has been conferred with several awards and certifications for his work across various platforms.

 

Homebakers, Students and Professionals come together to bake some lip-smacking fares at the India Cake Festival 2018!

Maria Goretti visits stalls by students at India Cake FestivalMUMBAI: The third edition of India Cake Fest – 2018 was held at Sheila Raheja Institute of Hotel Management (SRIHM), Bandra and inaugurated by Celebrity chef Maria Goretti.   The event which is conceptualized and managed by Enquo Experiential Communications in association with SRIHM invites baking enthusiasts including students, home bakers & professionals to participate in workshops to learn new trends in cake industry and also participate in various contests where you can showcase your skills in cake making.

The home bakers went head-to-head at the cake decoration competition with the theme ‘Destination’. There were enthusiasts participating from various regions. Varshita who traveled all the way from Bangalore for this festival said “Besides being a home baker, I have done a course in Fashion Designing, so I wanted to combine both & create something exclusive. Paris is my dream destination and the mecca for both the baking industry and fashion, I’ve added these little details on my cake like the macrons, Eiffel Tower, a Coco Chanel bag’.

The festival provided an opportunity to future chefs to showcase their talents and at the cake flea market students had set up stalls with some delectable array of yummy cakes & accompaniments. On display were varieties of cakes-Indian fusion cakes, healthy treats, French desserts, chocolate garnishes, eggless bakes, eggless desserts, healthy treats, pet bakes and more.

The students were also put to test at the dessert plating competition where they served delicious savory dishes to the judges. Workshops & Meet ‘n Greet were also conducted for food lovers and enthusiasts by celebrity chefs and mentors like Ranveer Brar, Rakhee Vaswani, Maria Goretti, Rushina Munshaw, Varun Inamdar, Anees Khan, Ruhee Bhimani, Yogesh Utekar, Divya Ranglani, Hanumanta Dhotre, Nicholas Fernandes, Aakanksha Arora, Siddhi Shetty and others.

The 2-day event hosted a panel discussion on ‘’Scale Your Passion’’, which spoke about all aspects of baking. The panel included Rakhee Vaswani – Celebrity Chef, Rajesh  Sanghvi of Delta Nutritives, Rajeshree Naik of India Food Network-Ping Network, Tushar Khakhar of AGENCY09 & Saloni Malkani of The FBAI with Panel moderator Chef Priti Bhanushali Punjabi of Sheila Raheja Institute of Hotel Management – SRIHM.

Christina D’souza stood first amongst the Home Bakers for Cake Decoration competition. And in the student’s category, it was SRIHM which took number #1 position, finally beating the 2 years’ winning trend of a Pune based college.

Actress Hina Khan has become the top name when it comes to fashion in the telly industry as the actress’s appearances on the red carpet are being loved by fans and fashion critics alike.  The actress after winning the most stylish award at the HT awards recently has been a common sighting on the fashion ramps.  After walking the ramp for Osaa By Adarsh at Lakme Fashion Week, the actress was seen in an Indian avatar at the Dubai Fashion League walking for designer Arpitha Raj.

Hina looks stunning in a red silk sari along with traditional polki jewelry.  We love that Hina tied her hair in a bun and adorned it with gajra, giving her the quintessential newly bride look.  While Hina’s recent appearances have mostly been in modern gowns and silhouettes, this look was quite a change and we must say we love the way Hina carried herself in this traditional Indian outfit, looking graceful as ever!
