Elder D Todd Christofferson awarded Saint Shri Dnyaneshwara World Peae Prize 2017 in a ceremony hosted at MAEER’S MIT, Pune.

The Philosopher Saint Shri Dnyaneshwara World Peace Prize-2017, given on behalf of World Peace Center (Alandi), MAEER’s MIT World Peace University, Pune, India was conferred upon the HON’BLE ELDER D. TODD CHRISTOFFERSON, Member of the Quorum of Twelve Apostles, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints – Mormon Community, Utah, (USA), in appreciation and recognition of his great yeomen service for championing the Noble Cause of Human Welfare, Communal Harmony and Universal Brotherhood through his unique mission to promote the Culture of Peace in the World.

The conferment ceremony took place at the Swami Vivekananda Mandap at Dr. Vishwanath Karad MIT World Peace University. The Chief Guest at this program was Dr. Michael Noble, Ex-President, Noble Charitable Trust. The award consisted of a golden replica of Saint Shri Dnyaneshwara, a gold medal, certificate and a cash prize of Rs. 5,25,000/- (Five Lakh Twenty Five Thousand Rupees).

Also present at the event were Shri. Babasaheb Purandare, Maharashtra Bhushan, Prof. Dr. Vishwanath D. Karad, President, World Peace Centre (Alandi), MAEER’s MIT World Peace University, Nanik Rupani, Chairman, Neutron Electronic Systems, Dr. Vijay Bhatkar, Padma Bhushan & Father of PARAM Supercomputer, Prof. Rahul Karad, Executive President, MIT World Peace University, Hon’ble Father Funk, Elder Robert Williams, Mr. Mathew Holland and Dr. Chandrakant Pandav, Trustee, MAEER’s MIT, Pune.

MNK_6594-1350x734In his acceptance speech, Elder D. Todd Christofferson said, “It is my honour to receive this World Peace Prize in the name of Saint Shri Dnyaneshwara. Our church is grateful to be part of India’s rich diversity of faith traditions. Religion defines and sustains us. For billions of believers it is who we are and how we live. But religion also benefits Nations, communities and policy makers who seek to establish peace and lasting prosperity for all people of all faiths. Religion has a significant effect on national prosperity. Study shows that religion fosters trust, a necessary ingredient for social Cohesion and economic growth. Religious people trust others more. They trust the legal system and government more, they are less willing to break the laws. Trust is an essential element of any well-functioning economy. Religious people are far more trusting than those with merely a secular point of view. Religious people and Institutions are powerful source of humanitarian assistance. People of faith are 40% more likely than non-religious people to give money to Charity and twice as likely to volunteer their services to community organisations. Religious freedom facilitates other types of freedom. Studies have shown that societal restrictions on religion increases interstate conflicts. The Christian community in India, although a minority, generally enjoy safety and peace to develop and contribute to Indian society as well as other faiths in India.”

Dr. Michael Nobel said, “The Nobel Prize in peace is generally considered by the world as the ultimate accolade for peace efforts. But there are other prestigious awards and one of them is the World Peace Prize given by MIT World Peace University and is considered as the foremost peace activity award in this country. The Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints is unique in several regards. The areas in which the organisation excels are they assure peace and Unity within family structures. They hava a strict imposition of honour codes in which no gambling, smoking or drinking is allowed, it is also a great range of scope of humanitarian efforts on a worldwide scale and their expensive and practical work with refugees to ensure their livelihood and possibilities of survival in a foreign country is commendable.”

Babasaheb Purandare said, “Today is an auspicious day as we are felicitating a senior and wiser man like Elder D. Todd Christofferson. His name starts with the world ‘elder’ and ends with the word ‘son’. The power of both the words can be seen within him. If pasaydan is written under the logo of any other religion it will sound the same and will relate itself appropriately to that religion. This is the beauty of pasaydan. We should love the world. The world ‘love’ truly resembles religion.”

Vishwanath Karad said, “We are delighted to honour Elder D. Todd Christofferson with the World Peace Prize. He has dedicated his life to the service of the society. Today we have come for common cause to promote peace and culture in this world. This is a small beginning. This institution has followed the steps of Swami Vivekananda. I have a hope that in the future the education system will be based on the union of Science and spirituality.”

Mumbai to host first ever India Intimate Fashion Week !

The 1st edition of India Intimate Fashion Week (IIFW), conceptualised to bring together the Indian intimate apparel industry is set to emerge as the largest platform for intimate fashion. India’s first fashion week (IIFW) dedicated to showcasing the Lingerie and Intimate wear apparel category in India has announced its event  dates . The 1st edition of the coveted fashion extravaganza, IIFW is set to take place from 18th to 19th March at Hotel The Leela in Mumbai.

Niraj Jawanjal, Founder and Director of IIFW, said “The intimate wear industry is amongst the largest industry’s across the world and has grown tremendously in last few years. iVoluteer makes a difference in the lives of the senior citizen !

4February the month of love, celebrates Valentine’s Day with aplomb around the world.  It marked a special importance this year at iVolunteer across Seven cities. An unconventional approach of involving volunteers to celebrate this day with senior citizens which will be cherished for a long time! The response was massive with a participation of more than 91 volunteers who made this event successful.

The mission was to involve volunteers by sharing their time, skills and passion to promote India’s social development was achieved efficiently by reaching out to a wider audience both online and offline.

The goal was to break the stereotype of celebrating valentines day with people other than  partners and was received well by people in all the seven cities.

Following were the details of the plan that was executed to gain maximum engagement:

  • #BeMyValentine as a hashtag was used to promote the campaign, so people can share this day with senior citizen and make them feel special.
  • Activities like dancing, singing and making paper bags with the help of volunteers was promoted both online and offline.
  • Considering the activities across all seven cities i.e. Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Chennai and Bangalore, participation was at its peak as every individual contributed equally.

Spreading smiles and happiness to the lives of our seniors, iVolunteer caught our attention indeed!

Singer Amika Shail and Actor Dishank Arora launch new season of Diamond Jewellery for LJOW !

This Valentine’s Day Leading Jewelers of the World (LJOW) launched an exciting and exquisite Season of Love Diamond Jewellery collection exclusively at Shoppers Stop’s outlets in Mumbai. The collection of stylish and lightweight designs in gold and diamonds was unveiled at a fashion show this evening at Shopper’s Stop, In Orbit Mall, Malad.

Each piece looks large and solid, but is actually extremely light and easy to wear. The secret? Hollow interiors that are not apparent to the viewer due to special techniques used in crafting. Stylish and lightweight, the pieces are also extremely affordable.

Speaking on the occasion Nidhi said “Valentine is the day of love and truly nothing expresses love better than a diamond.  LJOW wished to commemorate the season with this special collection. The specially designed gowns for the collection are all inspired from the love, passion and talent that have gone in the making of this new collection.”

Singer and actress Amika Shail presented the collection in her melodious voice humming the tune of her song ‘Ittefaqan’ from the upcoming movie Wedding Anniversary. Amika who was the show-starter for the collection said, “The quality of the product is a direct reflection of the quality of the excellent team that LJOW has and I must say that it’s unparalleled and excellent.”

The show-stopper of the evening was the handsome TV star Dishank Arora. Speaking on the occasion Dishank said, “It is a great pleasure to be a part of the collection launch on this special day. ‘No Shave November’ campaign to benefit cancer patient.

“No Shave November” a campaign with a cause, a movement which is all about saving money from no shaving & the proceedings to be donated to NGO “Access Life Foundation”img_2569

The cause is initiated by MonishChandan, a famous blogger from Mumbai who deeply supports the cause and feels the need to give back to the society in a constructive way. This event aims to help cancer patients and amplifies understanding that one out of ten households has a cancer victim or a survivor. Due to the fast paced & changing lifestyles, there is an ever increasing case of cancer in our society.

To take this initiative forward, an event was organized on 3rd December at Punjab Grill, Andheri West. A panel discussion was held to understand about cancer & how it is affecting our lives.

Our Emcee for the day, Samaira Wallani kept the audience enthralled & made the cancer surviving kids dance & sing during the event.

The panel discussion was led by Maria Vasudevan- Clinical Hypnotherapist, Shiraz Siddique- Cancer Survivor, Ankeet Dave- Executive Director – Access Life Foundation  & Ms. Ritu Gorai – CCO of JAMMS a popular Moms group in Mumbai and moderated by Sayanti Banerjee.

Monish Chandan, Campaign head says “My initiative is to raise funds, educate & research for Cancer & spread the awareness.  If you believe it we can do it, nothing is impossible. That’s what I think one should help and support and give back to the society. The first step to beat Cancer is to accept that it us just an illness and not a death sentence”
While Ankeet Dave , Executive Director , Access Life Foundation says “Access Life is a non-profit organization, committed towards working with children diagnosed with cancer or undergoing cancer treatment and making a difference in their lives. The mission of Access Life is to offer a home-like environment for these families and try to improve the quality of life of these children by providing practical support services, educational resources and recreations programs”

While Shiraz Siddique , Cancer Survivor says ““We feel that cancer is economically, emotionally, physically debilitating disease. It takes entire team of people with the patient to fight the disease. It is important to have such groups and events that can raise funds for pre-post-during the treatment and provide basic amenities like food, clothing and shelter to outstation cancer patients. Such patients find it difficult to find proper places to stay and also have hygienically cooked healthy food to eat due to monetary problems. Other important aspect is that sharing of experience of cancer treatments helps others to remove fear from heart and fight the disease better as well as recover fast.”

Ritu Gorai, CCO of JAMMS says “JAMMs network is a multi award winning support group for mothers in Mumbai… We connect online, meet offline and engage in various charity interventions. NSN was a great initiative and we were happy to associate with this noble cause to create more awareness about cancer”

The panel discussion was followed by live music performance by talented duo performers Vilas Nikam and Ashutosh Virendra from Shankar Mahadevan Academy and closing act by classical fusion dancer Aavinash Payal & famous singer Siddharth Sharma. There was a special performance by Singer Ashar Anis khan who enthralled the audience with his impeccable voice and style.

Kaveta Chaudhry directs Baba Ramdev in Yog Yatra. To air on Sony TV 1st, May

There is a buzz around  the soon to release  ‘ YOG YATRA ‘, a biopic on the life of Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev and his close friend Acharya Balkrishna.  In this film you will find Baba Ramdev donning  the actor’s garb shooting, rehearsals, riding the bike  enacting  his life journey of before being acknowledged as the Yoga Guru and becoming a global icon.

The promo has already garnered great excitement and curiosity among the business and film industry for the nature of its biopic. It is a 90-minutes film, but very meticulously showcases the life and evolution of Baba Ramdev and how he aspires to transform the life of people with yoga and ayurveda.

Kaveta spent months researching for the film and even while shooting, it was a revelation and rewriting of the scripts to bring to life the real episodes which created the legends.

I convinced them to expand the scope to including the vision behind Patanjali while including their activities. Actor-Director-Producer of this series, Kaveta Chaudhry essays the role of  Kalyani Singh who struggles through her journey to be an IPS Officer.
