The Mumbai auditions for fbb Colours Miss India 2018, co-powered by Sephora and Rajnigandha Pearls to be held at fbb store on 6th May.

India’s most exciting, glamorous and sought after beauty pageant is underway and ends its talent hunt in Mumbai at fbb / Big Bazaar at Infinity Mall, Malad.

With a new and improvised format, Miss India this year in its 55th edition tours all 30 states of the nation and to crown 30 state representatives who will then compete for the coveted Miss India crown.

The top 3 of Maharashtra will be given a golden ticket to the state zonal crowning ceremony to be held at Hyatt Regency Pune on 13th May, 2018. The most deserving candidate from each of the 4 states i.e.  Miss India Rajasthan, Miss India Gujarat, Miss India Goa and Miss India Maharashtra will represent their state at the grand finale which is going to be held in Mumbai in June.

The day-long auditions are expecting an overwhelming response from the city as always, with the hope that the girls from this city will make it to the final cut. For the first time, we have a mentor for the West Zone who hails from Goa itself. She is none other than the Miss India winner, actress and model Pooja Hegde

Aishwarya Devan, fbb colors Femina Miss India Maharashtra 2017 says – “Winning the four of the most coveted sub-titles of the contest like Beautiful smile, Spectacular eyes, Miss lifestyle and rising was a milestone in my career. Post the win, I was signed up for my debut project in Bollywood as a lead opposite Sharman Joshi in the film Kaashi”.

The eligibility criteria to apply for fbb Colors Femina Miss India 2018:

  • Height – 5.5′ and above
  • Age – 18-25( as of 31st December 2018)
  • Nationality – Indian (Valid Indian passport holder) & OCI card holder (she cannot win the Miss India title and can only win the runner-up titles)

Application criteria –

  • Birth State – The applicant can apply from her birth state.
  • Current state – The applicant can apply from the state she is currently residing/employed/studying at.
  • Native state – The applicant can apply from either of her parents birth state or from the state her parents are currently residing in.

To encourage maximum participation, the height criteria is reduced to 5’5’ and swimwear round is eliminated.

The much awaited season 2.0 of the India Intimate Fashion Week  (IIFW) to set the temperature in crazy hot mode whilst it soothes the eye with a game changer season for all lingerie and fashion followers.  The IIFW, Season 2.0 will be held on 22nd April 2018 at  The Hotel Leela Mumbai.

Manushi Chhillar wins Miss World 2017 -celebrating a six time win for India at this pageant!

Manushi further expressed, “My parents have  been a constant pillar of support and having them here tonight has only brought me more strength and joy.  My final answer came instantly as an ode to my loving mother who has stood her ground with  her unwavering belief in me!”

This svelte Indian beauty is the sixth  winner  of the title since Priyanka Chopra won it in 2000 and previous to that Yukta Mookhey, Diana Haydon, Aishwarya Rai and Reita Faria were the winners of the title.  All of who and other dignitaries and celebrities came forward to express their delight and congratulate Chhillar on her win.

Chhillar 20, is a medical student from Haryana.  She is born to doctor parents and has  studied in St. Thomas School in New Delhi and Bhagat Phool Singh Government Medical College for Women in Sonepat.

Chhillar competed against 118 contestants from various countries at a glittering event held at Sanya City Arena in China.

Chhillar was handed the crown by last year’s winner, Stephanie del Valle of Puerto Rico, at the ceremony. Stephanie Hill of England and Andrea Meza of Mexico finished as runners-up.

According to Chhillar’s profile on the Miss World website, she aims to be a cardiac surgeon and wants to open a chain of non-profitable hospitals based in rural areas.

‘No Shave November’ campaign to benefit cancer patient.

The cause is initiated by MonishChandan, a famous blogger from Mumbai who deeply supports the cause and feels the need to give back to the society in a constructive way. This event aims to help cancer patients and amplifies understanding that one out of ten households has a cancer victim or a survivor. Due to the fast paced & changing lifestyles, there is an ever increasing case of cancer in our society.

To take this initiative forward, an event was organized on 3rd December at Punjab Grill, Andheri West. A panel discussion was held to understand about cancer & how it is affecting our lives.

Our Emcee for the day, Samaira Wallani kept the audience enthralled & made the cancer surviving kids dance & sing during the event.

The panel discussion was led by Maria Vasudevan- Clinical Hypnotherapist, Shiraz Siddique- Cancer Survivor, Ankeet Dave- Executive Director – Access Life Foundation  & Ms. Ritu Gorai – CCO of JAMMS a popular Moms group in Mumbai and moderated by Sayanti Banerjee.

Monish Chandan, Campaign head says “My initiative is to raise funds, educate & research for Cancer & spread the awareness.  If you believe it we can do it, nothing is impossible. That’s what I think one should help and support and give back to the society. The first step to beat Cancer is to accept that it us just an illness and not a death sentence”
While Ankeet Dave , Executive Director , Access Life Foundation says “Access Life is a non-profit organization, committed towards working with children diagnosed with cancer or undergoing cancer treatment and making a difference in their lives. The mission of Access Life is to offer a home-like environment for these families and try to improve the quality of life of these children by providing practical support services, educational resources and recreations programs”

While Shiraz Siddique , Cancer Survivor says ““We feel that cancer is economically, emotionally, physically debilitating disease. It takes entire team of people with the patient to fight the disease. It is important to have such groups and events that can raise funds for pre-post-during the treatment and provide basic amenities like food, clothing and shelter to outstation cancer patients. Such patients find it difficult to find proper places to stay and also have hygienically cooked healthy food to eat due to monetary problems. Other important aspect is that sharing of experience of cancer treatments helps others to remove fear from heart and fight the disease better as well as recover fast.”

Ritu Gorai, CCO of JAMMS says “JAMMs network is a multi award winning support group for mothers in Mumbai… We connect online, meet offline and engage in various charity interventions. NSN was a great initiative and we were happy to associate with this noble cause to create more awareness about cancer”

The panel discussion was followed by live music performance by talented duo performers Vilas Nikam and Ashutosh Virendra from Shankar Mahadevan Academy and closing act by classical fusion dancer Aavinash Payal & famous singer Siddharth Sharma. There was a special performance by Singer Ashar Anis khan who enthralled the audience with his impeccable voice and style.

 

 

Sanjana Kapoor & brother Kunal Kapoor judge The International Circus Festival at Rambo Circus !

The whole circus camp at Rambo was alive with a flurry of activities, their favourite mentors from the Kapoor family were to visit to judge the new season of the International Circus Festival.

Most of the artists who double up as operations in-charge were busy setting things in order at the camp right until the bell rang for the show to begin. Then it’s a quick change into the costume and …. action!

Sujit Dilip, owner and manager at Rambo Circus escorted the guests of honour Sanjana Kapoor and Kunal Kapoor to the judges table and the show began.

Awed and enraptured by some very interesting acts on display this season, Sanjana and Kunal cheered every acts, boosting the morale of the humbled artists and adding fervor to the crowd.

Today, the growing popularity of Rambo Circus around the world and its talked about initiatives has made it a sought after destination for circus artists and enthusiasts to visit. This season, Rambo has artists from Azerbaijan, Ethiopia, Uzbekistan, Ukraine and Colombia besides Nepal and India.

Of course the task of getting permissions, formalities, operation cost still remains as daunting as ever, however, it hasn’t slowed Sujit Dilip, owner of Rambo Circus. In fact he is more determined to overcome all this and is positive that in times to come, Rambo Circus will make history.

Noted actor Shashi Kapoor visits Rambo’s International Circus Festival

Noted Actor Shashi Kapoor made a rare appearance to see the special show of Rambo Circus and its troupe of international artists in the indoor theatre of Prithivi. Davron Majidov, who is participating in the International Circus Festival from Russia, clearly was awed by the Kapoors and went up to Shashi Kapoor to take his blessings. “ I have been a fan of Mr Raj Kapoor who is very respected back in Russia, so it’s a great honour for me to perform today in front of the Late Raj Kapoor’s family. I am humbled ” said the 19 year old boy.

The entire troupe of Rambo Circus artists crowded around Shashi Kapoor delighted to see him doing well. Shashi Kapoor’s son Kunal and grandson Zahan were also present with Sujit Dilip, owner of Rambo Circus. Each one of the Rambo Circus family went up to Shashi Kapoor for his blessings and being photographed with him. Shashi Kapoorji was happy to indulge and sat through the entire performance.

The show at Prithivi Theatre was a super hit and ran to packed houses.

Shivam Tandon 1Mumbai-based, teenage protégée, 16 years old Master Shivam Tandon develops ‘TRIKE’ ( a crossover between a motor cycle & a car). He is very passionate about Technology, Gadgets, Cars and Innovation. When his family very clearly told him that, they will never let him buy a Motor Cycle as Two Wheelers are very risky. He thought of innovating a ‘TRIKE’, a Three Wheeler Crossover between a Motor Cycle and a Car; thus, very appropriately creating his own ‘TRIKE’, without any Professional Training or Guidance, just as a Hobby.

He started innovating the ‘TRIKE’ during his 2014 Summer Vacations after appearing for his 10th ICSE Board Exams, using a Scrapped Motor Cycle Engine, Front Wheel, Shock Absorbers & Steering handle of a Motor Cycle and Rear Wheels & Axle of a Motor Car. The Chassis & the Body of the ‘TRIKE’ and the supporting System has been indigenously created and designed by himself by procuring materials from the Local Vendors. The ‘TRIKE’ has been Developed and Innovated at a total cost of only Rs 35,000. He has done Test Drive and the ‘TRIKE’ is running smoothly and he is very Happy, Satisfied and Content with his Development and Innovation.

At the age of 12, he participated in Robotics Program held by “Indian Innovators Association” and “Think Labs ROBO.IN, SINE, IIT Bombay, Powai” held at “Reliance Web World, Powai”. He made a Robot along with other Competitors in the Robotics Program and was declared the winner  of the Program.

He had even made a Remote Control Aeroplane, a Car, a Centrifugal Machine and a Motor Boat, when he was only 10 years old.

An avid Soccer enthusiast, he also loves Aero-modeling i.e. Flying Small Airplanes & Helicopters, weather & time permitting.

Grover Zampa organizes the ‘Great Grover Stomp’at the Grover Zampa Vineyard

~A scintillating day of grape stomping, cellar tastings, wine cooking,  live performances, wine painting and many more activities at their picturesque vineyard~

 

27thJanuary, 2013, Nashik: Following the merger between GroverVineyards Ltd (GVL) and Vale De Vin Pvt Ltd (VDV), Grover Zampa Vineyardsintroduced this year their most awaited annual event – The Great Grover Stomp to the blooming roster of fun events. The event which took place at the Grover Zampa Vineyards in Nashik on 27th January, 2013, became an instant hit with guests, with an array of fun activities.All the wine connoisseurs exchanged great conversations over wine. The stomping event was graced by some eminent personalities who were seen enjoying their affair with this ecstatic beverage!

Talking about this much awaited stomping event, Mr. Ravi Jain, CEO, Grover Zampa expressed, “We at Grover Zampa Vineyard are extremely thrilled to have all our guests at this vineyard and experience the great range of wines we offer. In today’s times, this beverage has gained immense acceptance by the Indian palate. There is an increased awareness & acceptance about wines in India and people are readily trying various variants of wine. We wish to regularly conduct such interactive events and take their wine drinking experience to newer heights.” 

The Great Grover Stomp experience started with a vineyardtourthat gave an opportunity to the guests to explore the vineyardsafter which the guests were escorted for a guided winery tour to highlight the wine making procedure.The tour ended with wine tasting in the barrel room followed by a scrumptious lunch at the venue.

That’s not all! The day long wine tasting and stomping event was complimented by various captivating performances by renowned artists painting with wine and live jazz band. The relation between fine art and wine is wonderfully manifested in the Grover Vineyard’s “Art Collection”. The day ended with grape stomping by the guests marking the beginning of the harvest season.

It was a complete experience for wine connoisseurs and lovers from the city and its catchment areas who enjoyed a relaxing day at the picturesque venue along with some marvelous wine and some fun activities.

The event was graced by Actor/ Choreographer Farah Khan, Salil Chaturvedi of Provogue, South Actress Aavaana, famous architect Karan Grover amongst the many present.
