Homebakers, Students and Professionals come together to bake some lip-smacking fares at the India Cake Festival 2018!

Maria Goretti visits stalls by students at India Cake FestivalMUMBAI: The third edition of India Cake Fest – 2018 was held at Sheila Raheja Institute of Hotel Management (SRIHM), Bandra and inaugurated by Celebrity chef Maria Goretti.   The event which is conceptualized and managed by Enquo Experiential Communications in association with SRIHM invites baking enthusiasts including students, home bakers & professionals to participate in workshops to learn new trends in cake industry and also participate in various contests where you can showcase your skills in cake making.

The home bakers went head-to-head at the cake decoration competition with the theme ‘Destination’. There were enthusiasts participating from various regions. Varshita who traveled all the way from Bangalore for this festival said “Besides being a home baker, I have done a course in Fashion Designing, so I wanted to combine both & create something exclusive. Paris is my dream destination and the mecca for both the baking industry and fashion, I’ve added these little details on my cake like the macrons, Eiffel Tower, a Coco Chanel bag’.

The festival provided an opportunity to future chefs to showcase their talents and at the cake flea market students had set up stalls with some delectable array of yummy cakes & accompaniments. On display were varieties of cakes-Indian fusion cakes, healthy treats, French desserts, chocolate garnishes, eggless bakes, eggless desserts, healthy treats, pet bakes and more.

The students were also put to test at the dessert plating competition where they served delicious savory dishes to the judges. Workshops & Meet ‘n Greet were also conducted for food lovers and enthusiasts by celebrity chefs and mentors like Ranveer Brar, Rakhee Vaswani, Maria Goretti, Rushina Munshaw, Varun Inamdar, Anees Khan, Ruhee Bhimani, Yogesh Utekar, Divya Ranglani, Hanumanta Dhotre, Nicholas Fernandes, Aakanksha Arora, Siddhi Shetty and others.

The 2-day event hosted a panel discussion on ‘’Scale Your Passion’’, which spoke about all aspects of baking. The panel included Rakhee Vaswani – Celebrity Chef, Rajesh  Sanghvi of Delta Nutritives, Rajeshree Naik of India Food Network-Ping Network, Tushar Khakhar of AGENCY09 & Saloni Malkani of The FBAI with Panel moderator Chef Priti Bhanushali Punjabi of Sheila Raheja Institute of Hotel Management – SRIHM.

Christina D’souza stood first amongst the Home Bakers for Cake Decoration competition. And in the student’s category, it was SRIHM which took number #1 position, finally beating the 2 years’ winning trend of a Pune based college.

The highlight of this edition was the participation of Corporates & schools for various workshops. MUMBAI MAIDEN cruising Mumbai seas offering a glimpse of the city from sea. A first for the city

Mumbai Maiden the cruise ship which will sail through the shores anchored at Bandra Jetty near bandra-worli sealink.As you cruise onboard the newly launched ship, MUMBAI MAIDEN, you will observe the beautiful hues of the setting sun and later the nightlife of Mumbai city comes alive with the glistening shore.  High rise structures and the iconic Gateway of India stands tall, as you catch your breath at the magnificent view from the sea.

Mumbai Maiden was launched amidst much fan fanfare. Dr. William Britto, President of Mumbai Maiden along with Sanjeev Agarwal welcomed Shri Jaykumar Rawal (Tourism Development and Employment Guarantees Scheme Minister of Maharashtra) onboard for the ribbon cutting. The minister was accompanied by Shri Atul Shah (Ex Director MTDC/ BPTC/Ex MLA /BJP Maharashtra Spokesperson), Shri Raj Purohit (Spokesperson Maharashtra Government) and  MLA Shri Sujit Singh Thakur (BJP Gen Secretary of Maharashtra).  Also present was Vikrant Chandwadkar, member of the Mumbai Maiden management team.

A tour of the ship was conducted which displays the various avenues for hospitality, the Captain’s deck, and Navigation room.  This was followed by a brief session on the interesting pointers about the ship and a demonstration of the safety and security measures available onboard.  

Shri Jaykumar Rawal quoted “Mumbai is easily acknowledged for its economic dynamism and being an influential city.   It is about time the city got something like this going for its visitors.  We have seen the city by road, now we can experience it from the sea”.  He was very enthusiastic about the launch of this project and was quick to inform that the MTDC (Maharashtra Tourism Department Corporation) along with the  Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Shri Devendra Fadnavis endeavors to do everything which will make the city stand out as the most attractive city in the world.  He cited Mumbai Maiden’s cruise by the sea, the Mumbai Festival and other initiatives which will enhance tourism and make a difference.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qSF-XSn92ZM

Singer Amika Shail and Actor Dishank Arora launch new season of Diamond Jewellery for LJOW !

This Valentine’s Day Leading Jewelers of the World (LJOW) launched an exciting and exquisite Season of Love Diamond Jewellery collection exclusively at Shoppers Stop’s outlets in Mumbai. The collection of stylish and lightweight designs in gold and diamonds was unveiled at a fashion show this evening at Shopper’s Stop, In Orbit Mall, Malad.

All India Digital Skill Mission: Kashmir to Kanyakumari

The mission was launched by Union Minister of Urban Development, Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation and Information & Broadcasting, Shri M Venkaiah Naidu with an aim to promote Internet based careers.

This mission is the brainchild of its core team members: Kapil Anand, Sai Ramesh, Jay Paudyal, Pawan Kumar, Yogesh Mankani, Sachin Bharadwaj and Vinay Mehra who joined the mission from Amritsar. They are all experts in their respective fields and share their passion of imparting knowledge of the digital world to others.

The sole purpose of the All India Digital Skill Mission is to promote internet based career opportunities among the youth of the country. More than 15 workshops, seminars, and talks were held in colleges, schools including NITs, IITs, and IIMs, covering a variety of topics. Some of which include blogging, digital marketing, entrepreneurship, and e-business. Digitalisation and related government schemes were also discussed to empower people and help them understand the importance of internet skills in this day and age.

So far, 20+ bloggers meet is done and have travelled through 26+ cities and hundreds of villages. During the workshops and bloggers meet, the team is also giving away premium tools, hosting and domains, free of cost, worth 4 crore INR.

The mission involves travelling 20,000 kilometers in two months, across the length and breadth of the country in Tempo Traveller by road. Currently, the team has reached Kanyakumari, completing 50% of the journey, and plans to continue to the north-eastern part of the country.

Kaveta Chaudhry directs Baba Ramdev in Yog Yatra. To air on Sony TV 1st, May

There is a buzz around  the soon to release  ‘ YOG YATRA ‘, a biopic on the life of Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev and his close friend Acharya Balkrishna.  In this film you will find Baba Ramdev donning  the actor’s garb shooting, rehearsals, riding the bike  enacting  his life journey of before being acknowledged as the Yoga Guru and becoming a global icon.

The promo has already garnered great excitement and curiosity among the business and film industry for the nature of its biopic. It is a 90-minutes film, but very meticulously showcases the life and evolution of Baba Ramdev and how he aspires to transform the life of people with yoga and ayurveda.

Kaveta spent months researching for the film and even while shooting, it was a revelation and rewriting of the scripts to bring to life the real episodes which created the legends.

Sanjana Kapoor & brother Kunal Kapoor judge The International Circus Festival at Rambo Circus !

The whole circus camp at Rambo was alive with a flurry of activities, their favourite mentors from the Kapoor family were to visit to judge the new season of the International Circus Festival.

Most of the artists who double up as operations in-charge were busy setting things in order at the camp right until the bell rang for the show to begin. Then it’s a quick change into the costume and …. action!

Sujit Dilip, owner and manager at Rambo Circus escorted the guests of honour Sanjana Kapoor and Kunal Kapoor to the judges table and the show began.

Awed and enraptured by some very interesting acts on display this season, Sanjana and Kunal cheered every acts, boosting the morale of the humbled artists and adding fervor to the crowd.

Today, the growing popularity of Rambo Circus around the world and its talked about initiatives has made it a sought after destination for circus artists and enthusiasts to visit. This season, Rambo has artists from Azerbaijan, Ethiopia, Uzbekistan, Ukraine and Colombia besides Nepal and India.
